If You Feel Stuck or Lost, I Hear You, And You Are Not Alone.
Counseling Can Help.
Please Note: I am NOT accepting New Clients at this time.
***In preparation for maternity leave I currently have a reduced caseload. I will be looking at hopefully resuming taking new clients in September 2021. ***
At some point in life, we all experience a moment when we question whether we’re on the best path forward. Maybe a relationship feels lost or we’re feeling unsure about a decision. One day we enjoy our job and the next we feel trapped.
In counseling, I create a supportive and safe environment in which you can move from feeling stuck or confused in some area of life to feeling more confident and better connected to others.
Above all, I can help you start moving towards the path that leads to better living. As a therapist, I believe counseling is a relationship that we journey through together. Therapy begins with understanding you and your concerns.
What motivated me to go into the career of counseling is the ability to help people. From volunteering to my work in community and hospital settings, my passion for helping others has been a constant push in my life.
Our therapy sessions will be tailored to your needs.
Sessions are provided in a relaxing and supportive space where you can talk openly with someone who’s open, accepting, and without judgment.
A Little About My Professional Background
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006. I then went on to complete my Masters degree in Counseling & Psychology at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor in 2009.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have been practicing as a counselor since 2011. My counseling focus is on individual and couples therapy using therapy techniques that are specific to the individual and/or couples I’m working with.
My Therapy Approach/Specialty
My main therapy approach is using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT. Cognitive Behavioral therapy is a counseling treatment proven to be helpful for improving mental health through scientific research.
Therefore, this means that CBT is not based only on what people think can work, but what has been shown to work. Learn more about CBT and the Academy of Cognitive Therapy here.
There Are Many Ways Counseling Helps
On our counseling journey together, I can help you:
improve your relationships
live your best life
cope better with difficult emotions
enjoy being around loved ones more instead of pushing them away
About Me Outside of Being a Counselor:
I’m married. I grew up in a military family and my father and most of the men in my family (including my husband) are/were veterans. I have 2 cats but no children (yet!). I grew up in Bell County. I’ve traveled to Italy and love vacations in Mexico. My husband and I are huge Doctor Who fans!
